Established as a bed and breakfast in 2008, Birdsong Cottage is a two bedroomed, finely furnished bed and breakfast. The name Birdsong will become apparent the moment you arrive, the birds are keen to be heard.

Easy access to the A1, and the surrounding area, one of two fantastically furnished bedrooms for guests, sumptious bathrooms and of course renowned Northumbrian hospitality that includes a fine breakfast. Bedroom 1 , Swallows Rest, complete with coffee making facilities, a flat screen TV, two relaxing tub chairs and of course the sumptuous king-sized bed makes for an amazingly comfortable night. On top of this you can relax in some of the luxurious robes and slippers provided. Free Wi-Fi is available along with a delightful Ri Jo coffee maker, a real treat for coffee lovers. The bathroom, with it`s range of optional scented candles, soaps and bath salts and fantastic jacuzzi bath, is the perfect place to relax, clean off and get ready to enjoy a day out or sample some of the cuisine at one of the many local restaurant`s or inns. Complimentary breakfast is served to your room with a choice of traditional Northumbrian Stottie stuffed with bacon or you may prefer a selection of warm pastries & preserves. A short drive to the south leads into Alnwick , Northumberland`s traditional county town and the seat of The Duke of Northumberland. With it`s imposing castle and the magnificent Alnwick Gardens along with a myriad of traditional shops, Alnwick (only 10 minutes drive from Birdsong) is well worth a visit. Across to the east and the dramatic vistas offered by the North Sea provide a unique and awe-inspiring site. The aforementioned Bamburgh Castle, once the seat of ecclesiastical power in Britain provides a good day out. Within a 15 miles radius of Bamburgh lie both Lindisfarne, accessible only by a causeway and also the world famous Farne Islands, home to a colony of more than 80,000 puffins during the summer months. We can`t forget the Cheviot Hills that sit to the west of Birdsong cottage, part of the Northumberland National Park, the Cheviots provide a vast array of walks to suit all abilities.
